If I were better at fabrication...I can imagine a Duramax powered chassis cab that could be grafted on the rear half of the GMC.
Here ya go just to wet your whistle a bit...

Honestly, I don't think it would be too difficult to graft my motorhome to a chassis cab. The toughest part would be integrating the cab to the coach. Since mine is already fiberglass and aluminum, I think that integration wouldn't be that bad either. Trying to make it look like it belongs in the other hand...
Yep, I've seen some really nice looking conversions on older HDT's and then some that looked like they just glued shit together. But I thought of your comment when I saw this video.
Jeeps aren’t the only things that empty every pocket.

That seems like too much work. Seems easier to start with a Chassis Cab and do a "little" body work.
I have a truck camper with no slides. Before we bought ours we first rented a truck camper without a slide and then rented one with a slide. We knew immediately we didn’t want slides. In a truck camper, the limited additional amount of space they offer just didn’t seem to be worth the trouble, at least to us. I suspect a very large truck camper like a Host makes better use of the space, but it doesn’t fit our lifestyle.
Our '05 vintage 5'er had a deep cabinet for the "tube" tv in the living area. We pushed the screen toward the front of the cabinet.
Yours looks like you could push it toward the front and build extra storage behind it accessible from the closet side.
My daughter got me this plaque to hang up in the motorhome.
It’s incredible, kidding, can’t see shit
