How bad does my frame look?

I’ve had this Jeep for about five years and I’m starting to notice some frame rust. I’m wondering how bad it looks to other members and whether it’s worth repairing or what.

Well, better than my frame, but it’s definitely starting to go. I would clean it inside and out (you’ll be surprised how much you will find inside) to get a good idea how far it’s actually rotted, and soak that thing in linseed oil/ fluid film if there’s no holes.

Your tub side above the mounts looks pretty bad, but they make patch panels for that too.

Clean out the frame and see if there's any metal left for Safe T Caps. Cut out the tub body mounts to replace them.
p.s. I would have noticed the rust 5 years ago.

That bad, huh? It does have a coating on the outside and I have been able to take off the skid plate and put it on a few times for transmission work. I know the body mounts do look really bad though.

Just looking at the pics I don’t think you need to worry about patching the frame any time soon, but you will not know till you clean it out.

Got-dang undercoating….

I would grab a smartphone borescope off of Amazon or similar and get a good look internally, should tell you what you need to know. The body mounts at the torque boxes need to be addressed or it's gonna creep right thru, there are simple repair sections available for those.

There's a lot wrong going on here.

1. The shocks. Get em outta there.
2. Body mounts. I'm sure you know that's a tub thing not a frame thing, but I figured I'd mention it.
3. Drop that skid. I'm sure there's a fuck load of rot on the bottom side of the frame rails under the skid. That's the first spot these frames rust out on (typically). With the body mounts being that bad, I'd wager the center of the rails aren't too far behind.

Yeah I need to do something about those shocks, I know. I've had the skid plate off a couple times and it doesn't actually seem to be that terrible under there, but I guess I'll have to check again.
