How bad does my frame look?

The torque boxes are toast. I had to redo mine since my Jeep came with me from PA… so did the rust! Pocono Metal craft had excellent fitting boxes. Cut out the rust leave enough to weld the new boxes too. They also sell the frame sections. I’d clean out what you can and decide if you are keeping the Jeep, capping the sections, or frame swap… I know it sucks. I’ll eventually have to do it to mine too

Take it off and bang on the frame with a hammer.

I have a hole in my frame, right behind the skid. You could bang on the frame under the skid like Tommy banged Pamela and it would sound solid. They all go differently.

what is the best method for cleaning all the scale inside the frame? I think I remember a thread here with something attached to a drill with small chains attached.

I've written it before here, and ill write it again. I wish there was a way to prevent people from road salt states and provinces from owning and driving old Jeeps and classic automobiles. It's literally where all the good stuff goes to die.

This is not cheap. It is not easy. It is not going to clean your junk 100% and guarantee 100% adhesion of the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating...

However, it *does* do a very thorough job of cleaning out the rails, prepping them for painting with the Eastwood Internal Frame Coating, and ensuring that you have adequate drainage AND access in the future.

• Drill drain holes in the rails and access holes in the rear crossmember.
• Make an air gun that can get deep into the frame rails to blow them out.
• Use a sewer jet to bombard the remaining compacted crap...

I used one of these and then the car wash pressure hose to clean mine out before the Eastwood coating was applied.
