How can I tell if my transmission mount is bad?

What would be noticeable effects of a bad transmission mount?
And can it be inspected without droppung

You can't really see if it's bad or not without dropping the skidplate. They can look fine from the side but still be bad. If you replace it, make sure to go with the OE style with a rubber mount. Polyurethane mounts will transmit vibrations into the passenger compartment. Make sure to remove all four of its nuts using a 1/2" socket before dropping the skidplate or you'll have a destroyed transmission mount.

Gotcha on the rubber mount. Whst would be a sign of a bad mount? My jeep kinda vibrates at idle and stops when I put it in neutral.

When my transmission mount was going bad I experienced a shudder under acceleration that would go away as speed leveled out.
