Post some pics and video links of what your jeep is capable off, and what specs you've got now, specially interested in those of you with mid builds, 33" on 3-4"lifts and such.

so far I'm here..

But this is the goal..

WINTER TIRES & LOCKERS

Two builds that pop into my mind are @JMT and @bobthetj03's. Both have done some pretty difficult trails.

Well, bobthetj03 has been over the Rubicon, Moab, and will be going over the Rubicon again next week. Follow the rubicon trip in the regional section for photos next week. I went with JMT to Moab and he always picked the harder lines. Lot's of photos of his rig are posted in the Texas forum.

4" Currie lift, + 1" BL on 35's and a bunch of other goodies. Capable of doing Rubicon 6 times, Fordyce Creek twice, several trails at Moab, Slick Rock a dozen time and misc other trails around Nor Cal.

How is Fordyce compared to The Rubicon? I have done the Rubicon 3 times Slick Rock many more. But never Fordyce.

On a scale of 1 - 10 the Rubicon would be a 7-1/2 and Fordyce a 10. I do Fordyce when they do Sierra Trek, otherwise I think the river is to high. It has a lot of similar type of spots like Rubicon you just don't get the long stretches of mild areas. It seams like it's rock fields after rock fields. Don't get me wrong I will most likely be doing it again next year.

Some cool photos in these posts of my rig in action: 3” SL + 1.25” BL, 33’s, Locked

There’s more, but a rig on 33’s locked is very capable. My buddy in the pics/videos is @b0xcar and he’s on 33’s with limited slip. Goes just about anywhere

I'm going to need to sign up next year for Sierra Trek. Fordyce is definitely a trail I want to run.

Yeah something like yours is what I want to build but I definitely think it's way overkill for me, roughest I'd like to do is Rubicon and that's just because the views are absolutely fantastic, it's a gorgeous place, but I just want a capable adventure/ camping rig.

He’s on a Dana 44

I had a Dana 35 but swapped to a Dana 44. I think some of those vids are pre-Dana 44. Peace of mind

Hell yes, there were a few of us from the forum up there.

If that's the case you can build a nice rig to run on 33's for a lot less effort. You only need to build for the trails you want to run and what your happy with and don't worry about anyone else. After all its your jeep do whats good for you and have a ball doing trails you like.

Say a 4.0 on a 3.75" (2.5" sl+1.25 bl) lift, highline mod, on 35" with super 35, lunchbox locker front and arb back. Will that take me on over the Rubicon and make it enjoyable?
Yes that will do fine, are you dong gears ?. My son takes my old 95 YJ, 4 cyl, on 33's and he does fine, but it does have ARB's front and rear and re-geared to 4:88's

Yeah, I'm definitely re-gearing. I'll probably be doing the axles first, talked to a guy here it will be around $3k for front and back re gearing, super 35s by revolution and arb locker. We might look into a Dana 44 swap as it might even be cheaper he might get the housing for cheap.
