How high is this body lift? Does it have any impact on replacement Shocks?

Hi. I'm assuming this is a Body Lift. Can anyone tell me what measurement to take that will tell me how much lift? I want to replace the shocks. Does the body lift impact what shocks I need? Thank you.

Looks to be a 3 inch body lift and I would recommend removing asap.

The body lift has no impact on shock length

Ive had this jeep for about 10 years and drive it a lot. When I bought it, I think the guy had 33's or 35's on it. i dont remember. they were stolen from my garage. So what is the down side of these body lifts and what would you replace them with?

Thanks for the link. is it the height that is the issue with the current body lift or the quality of the material used in the pucks?
2" and 3" body lifts just cause too many issues for things like the transmission & transfer case shifters, engine fan shroud, gas tank filler neck, etc. Your 3" is already installed so obviously those issues were probably taken care of. Hopefully properly. If you have any shifting problems though it's likely caused by that 3" body lift.

As above a body lift does not affect the shock's upper mounting points so it does not affect the shock length like a suspension lift does.

Both. Jerry pointed out some of the issues. But also the taller pucks put an added leverage on the mounts.

Lastly, the material of those pucks are known to deteriorate, compress, and otherwise deform causing issues with body mounts. I think it's @jjvw (I might be wrong?) that has some good pictures and description of the issues caused by the poly pucks body lifts.

The 3" puck the OP has looks to be a glass reenforced nylon puck. These won't squish and aren't inherently a poor choice of material where proper bolt torque is concerned.

What can occur, due to the material and also the increased leverage from the height, is that the nylon puck can crack after an impact, tip, and allow the body to move independently of the frame. This is essentially the same end result as what a JKS body lift. Except it is guaranteed to occur with JKS.
