Cooked a ton of food for the week on the grill tonight, 2 salmon filets, beef and turkey burgers and chicken in chipotle rub/broth…tough to not try it all.

I am replacing a gas grill that finally gave it up and I am hoping I can use this one for grilling and smoking as well, I have a PRIMO ceramic smoker and a Hasty Bake charcoal grill smoker combo already but sometimes I just don't want to fool with lighting charcoal .

Just picked up a new Rec Teq RT 590, first time user of a pellet grill. I have ate food off of a friends several times and it was always good, anyone have any pros or cons on this brand? Rec Teq seems to have plenty of support from the interweb community.

you can't go wrong with the brand. You might want to sign up here for a ton of info https://www.smokingmeatforums.com great bunch of people with some cross over to members here.

Over on BBQ Brethren they’ve had a yearly MAK sale for the last two years. Unfortunately I didn’t get to take advantage of it. Smoking meats is a much better forum layout.

Never been on that site, SMF keeps me busy enough and good people too. I can contribute there more than I can here, being that I am on flat LI.

I picked up at RT700 back in September. Been loving it ever since.

So, I'm ready for tomorrow with a 13lb Bone-in Ribeye.

I just applied a coffee based rub this morning:
Tones Rosemary Garlic Seasoning
Kosher Salt
Black Pepper
Medium ground Hazelnut Coffee (I used a Kona blend)
Fresh Ancho Chile Powder (I make my own Chile powders from dried peppers, this one is Ancho and Chile Negro)
Oregano

I catch the drippings in a foil pan and use them to make a sauce with fresh horseradish and heavy cream.

I'm already hungry! Excellent!
