How much to offer for impact orange LJR?

Think about the 6 sp, some problems and it can get old shifting constantly. Auto needs the Wranglerfix, about $1K.

Your preference. My advice start a little low, can always come up.

Also hardtop worth about 1500-2k so factor that in. I like a hardtop but others on here not so much. Up to you.

Will washing it every week be enough?

I’m originally from SE Wis. once the salt starts the rust process rain and humidity will continue it. There’s no way to get to the seams and other nooks and crannies. The frame on TJ takes the biggest rust hit. All you can hope for is to slow it down. It’s well worth it to travel and find a rust free example. Impact orange is a rare color on a rare model it will be difficult to find. I wanted a yellow TJRU but settled for Patriot Blue. Black was the only color that was a deal breaker for me. The extra room of an Unlimited is wort the hassle to me. The search is part of the fun. It took my Wife and I searching multiple times a day for 6 months to find ours. I looked at a lot of crap locally. I had the best luck using SearchTempist. You put in a zip with a 500 mile radius and it shows everything on Craigslist. I don’t use Facebook but it should be similar. Ours was 1K away and we made a nice short vacation out of it. I got a TJ and the wife got a shopping trip in Denver. Both of us were happy.

So far my ‘06 autos haven’t had any issues. I can guarantee one never will. ;)

I have became more familiar with the 42 RLE this year - it is a smart transmission- more advanced than you might think. It can actually tell the computer when the torque converter is broken in.

Unique for a four 4 speed auto- it has 1st, 2nd, 3rd (drive)and 5th (overdrive)😂

It’s weak link is really a weak one- a final drive that leads to high temps- behind a hot engine bay, with cooler lines that run by the cats for added heat.

For longevity I think it needs regular service, a cooler, proper gear ratios, and the overdrive off when needed.

Basically the deck is stacked against it for durability, but you can improve the odds.

The six speed feels notchy to me, seems to pulls big tire the best of all TJ transmissions drive ratio wise.

The 32RH is the auto transmission that is best suited to the 4.0- old school technology for an old school engine.

Yeah. She hasn't listed it yet.

To calculate "value", start with base LJ Rubi, 15 to 20K and add all the mods and what they cost new and see if it is worth it to you. Costs will be more than the 26 he/she are asking, but maybe not worth it to you. For what you want to do with it, you do not need all those mods, but up to you. The base TJ or LJ will go places that are hard to believe, all/most mods just make it better/safer/less damage. I could be wrong. D

Yeah. She hasn't listed it yet.

Most of the best rigs are sold as “inside deals”. They never are on the market...they just change hands.

Like mine - it was sold before he wanted to sell it. Only a few people knew what was going on.

It sounds like the husband/owner passed or something- by the term “she”.

Sounds like you have the inside track.

The best answer to “how much” I can give you is “enough to get it....if you want it”.

I dislike the word fair, it is highly subjective, like the word quality.

You will be shocked what happens if she lists it. Some of those that want it will want it badly.

You will never have a hard time selling it later unless you ruin it.

Looks like a fun rig.

Yeah it seems like it! Random question but have you ever driven a LS swapped jeep before? I remember years ago someone posted one on facebook i really wanted it but it was like 32k or something like that.

The mods i really like. I think genright is the best looking after market fenders. Idk much about the other mods though. I heard good things about the wheels idk about the long arm kit.

@John Cooper s rig is an example- was really solid- and the guy had just considered selling it but never got it on the market at all-

Coincidentally my son had just bumped into the guy on a construction job and inquired about was all- deal went down very quietly.

Then when I got ready to sell John swooped in. It has never had a for sale sign in the window.

@Hogs killer 2006 LJR sold that way.

@tr21triton knew what he wanted and did not play around when he found it. Somehow his probation officer let him cross state lines and he got it.

No, but have one with a Dodge Magnum V8. You can’t use all it has basically. Or you will die. Probably smiling.

Avoid any V8 swapped rig thats not done well- it will break you trying to fix it.

That is awesome. If i don't buy this one hopefully i can find one similar to it! I know as time goes on it's going to get harder and harder to find a clean LJr especially in orange.
I have never seen a LJ in person besides mine. Even TJ's are rare around here. All rusted out probably
