The PCMs are all setup for cruise. If you already have the wiring in place, just add the switches and servo and you’re set.
How to install factory cruise control in your Jeep Wrangler TJ

I ended up extracting the parts needed from a donor engine harness myself. I got the whole harness for $40, so it was worth it to extract the pieces I needed.
I made a video of the Cruise Control install I did on my 2006. The link for it is:
On my 06 X, 4.0, I didn't have the factory cc harness. Followed Brent's video and made an overlay harness. All hooked up, but no cruise light. I had tapped into the brake switch wires, and realized I didn't remove the VT/Y and VT/Wh from the plug.
With that done, I was able to get the cc light on the dash to go on. Then it went off as quickly as it went on. Did a test drive, hit the switch and the light went on for about 5 seconds then turned off. No cc activation while driving.
Has anybody had this same problem, and what was the solution ? I've searched the site and didn't find anything close.

I know it’s an old thread, but has anyone done this on a ‘99? I need to replace my clock spring (airbag light and horn don’t work). I probably won’t add CC for a while, but wondering if I should get a clockspring with cruise control to prep for the upgrade

i have factory cruze on my 2000 tj 60th anv i’m woundering where and what color wires they would need to go to ( the jeep was wired up previously but i have to pull it out to fix some melted wires and i have forgotten where they where they went
Hello, starting an install in a 1997. I pulled parts from a 1998 under the hood is complete, but I am still working to find a home for the red/tan and brown/yellow wires from the back of the new clock spring. Any ideas?
A good place to start would be the FSM (available in the resources area in PDF format), you should be able to find wiring diagrams there. That said, the clock spring should have connections for the horn as well as the speed controls on the spokes of the steering wheel, I would assume that's what the additional wires are for...
I'm Adding cruise to my 2000 TJ. Vehicle was prewired from factory and I have checked all wires for continuity/ All ok. I found a mount correct servo for my 2000 as well as the switches for the steering wheel, switches tested good for function based on continuity checks based on FSM schematic. Solid vacuum source. Brake kill ckt tests ok. ALL connections for the system test good. I Installed a new Clock spring as that was the only item it did not have. But no CRUISE light activation at startup or when pushing the ON/OFF button.
I assume a bulb is in the cruise socket from the factory? but even if its not, there is no action going down the road. I've never seen a failed or lacking bulb to cause issues with a cruise,
Based on FSM section on speed control, the PCM sends a 5v signal to the wheel on/off switch so I assume there is not another fuse of any sort on the cruise system? Surely cant find one.
I have yet to check for 5v coming into the switch. But assume if I don't see 5v at the switch, coming in from Pin32/C3 there is possibly an issue with the PCM Cruise output?

I ended sourcing pins and wiring pigtails from a 2006 Sebring, vacuum line from it as well. I bought the servo assembly and bracket from the jeep graveyard, (probably could've stolen the one off the sebring not sure) and the steering wheel switches from ebay. I tried making completely new pcm wires but not find new pins for the life of me. The PCM pigtails of the sebring worked great. I broke the prongs off my original cover, so it gave me a new one to be more careful with and install back on my jeepy. I purchased 20 gauge automotive wiring from amazon in 6 colors and painted them as needed to match, and some wiring tubing as well as wiring tape. It took a second to really understand what was going and that i had to cut a few wires for the 2006 model year and that some did not need touched at all. The video by 8Rent made all the difference for me.

sadly my 06 doesn't have the wiring....so this project is off my to-do list (still a long list though)
I've had a couple of Rostra units - they work just fine. I put one on the Jeep because I didn't want the stock style steering wheel buttons.
For anyone wondering. I got the clock spring in and added cruise control. Fairly simple. I almost gave up when the cruise light would not turn on. Turns out it was a burnt out bulb. Test your lights by holding down odometer while turning the key to on, but don’t start the car.
