Hey everyone bought a genright rear bumper that has holes for body mounts. Straight to the point I am debating cutting slots in the bumper where body mount holes are to simply slide it on crossmember and bolt it down or going through the process of actually installing it correctly, removing rear body mounts. What would you do?
I will include a link to a video I found on installing a similar bumper..in his he removed the body mounts in front of the gas tank in order to remove the rear body mounts on crossmember. Very discouraging..my rear crossmember body mount bolts are spinning(both). Am aware I may have to remove fender liner and cut into tub to gain access. All just to bolt a bumper on seems over the top and am now leaning towards cutting slots in the new bumper and bolting it on. I was recently rear ended and after getting everyones input on a slight dent in crossmember. I removed rust, painted and didn't sweat the small dent. Decided on this bumper as it should hide most the crossmember and I like the looks. Genright was excellent to deal with! Great folks, fast shipping and happy with product.
