I just replaced my radiator, water pump, etc shortly after buying our jeep less than two years ago. Today while move stuff around my yard, I saw the temp gauge go from normal operating temp, then suddenly jump to the 235 mark (the one between 210 and 260).
I figured it must’ve been low on coolant and the thermostat popped open, causing the light switch like jump. Sure enough, the burp tank was empty and the radiator was definitely not full.
I’m assuming this isn’t normal for a TJ and unfortunately I have the unfavorable head casting for a 2000.
Looking at Clearwater’s site, they have a big valve option. Anyone try this on an otherwise stock 4.0? Wondering how it’d run with some extra flow potential or if it’s just not worth it…
