Washington Huge WA 4x4 Swap Meet in March 2023

As usual, it was huge and very well attended. Tons of stuff for sale.

For me though, I wasn't looking for anything in particular (I've pretty much got everything I need). But it was fun to walk around, and I got caught up with someone I haven't seen in a while. I also drove my new Jeep to the event - Just picked it up on Friday. I'm still working on getting enough break-in miles on the TJ to where I can take it on the highway.

Had a good time and picked up some parts that are hard to ship for the Jeep, like a gas tank skid and a sway bar. Was worth the hour and half drive each way.

Anyone else who attended... what was your impression of the event? Was it as large as I made it out to be? Find what you were looking for?

I was shocked at the line to get parked and then to get in.

Size was about as advertised/expected. I have been going to the Early Bird swap meet put on by the Model T club for years, but this was my first time going to this swap meet. With the Early Bird swap meet gone, this will probably be my early swap meet to go to.

The 2024 4x4 swap meet is this Sunday, 10 March; same place and times. I'll be there even though I don't technically "need" anything for any of my Jeeps. It's still fun to attend and see what's out there.

I've been debating but not sure I want to drive over the pass this weekend.

I'll be at the annual carhart convention.

Awesome. Here's a link for everyone:

For those of you who have never attended, this event is huge. It isn't just a couple tables with some stuff a few guys are getting rid of. You'll be walking down isles and such for a while. I bring a backpack for the smaller things I collect. And there are kids with wagons to help you haul larger stuff out to your vehicle.

If I came over it'd be for axle shopping and I don't have the funds for that right now. Of course if I was to visit I'm sure that there is something I'd find I just can't live without.

And some of those kids are very enterprising and some of the wagon builds are impressive.

Seems like every year I go I find something I didn't know I needed (hence the backpack).

And as usual, the day prior (9 March) they're having the annual Mike & Key Electronics Show and Swap Meet. Think Ham radios.

One of these days I've got to attend this one too. I live a couple hours away, so I'd need to find a place to crash Friday night (oh wait; my son and his family lives in Olympia...). I so wish they'd schedule them on the same day as the 4x4 swap meet. They're in different buildings so there shouldn't be a conflict. Parking might be an issue I guess.

I think it would be a perfect fit, as a lot of 4-wheelers are also into Overlanding and Ham radio communication. I've got my Ham license (KI7TSP).

Years ago they used to offer camping in the lot off to the side of the fairgrounds. I don't know if they offer that option anymore. It's how I used to come over and be there brite & early. It was easier when I was staying in Snohomish but glad I don't anymore. And yes parking SUCKS... Having a

I didn't get anything, but I was surprised to not see 4WP there this year.

Dayum. Did you sell anything?

I regretfully missed it again this year. Was planning to go but last minute had to rescue a buddy stuck up in the mountains.
