Hi All,

As the title suggests I have a road map that I am good with as a starting point. There are a few DIY projects that I will need to take on but I feel everything is doable by spring.

There are two option for tire size that I am still deciding on.

Savvy - 1.25” Body Lift

JKS - 1" MML

TJ - Moab 16” Wheels

DuraTrac - 285/75R/16 (Load Range E) Tires (deflated to 26 psi off-road)

Or

3.07 gears... oh man, those have to go. Literally the worst gear ratio offered ;)

New gearing will happen when I do the lift:

As of now:

OME 2.25” SL

Savvy 1.25” BL

JKS 1" MML

Goodyear Duratrac 285/75R/16

I think I'm holding off on Discos or Antirock at this time.

Also as i'm planning the MML I will not be doing a TCD

That tire is designed to carry up to 3750 pounds per tire. As such, it's heavier, and has more tire plys to carry the load - making it not very compliant for bumps or able to conform to rocks, terrain, etc.

Something load range C is much better for our weight Jeeps. Unfortunately, that usually means a 15" wheel, or a more rare tire in 17" wheel diameter.

Not many, if any C options left in 16 inch wheels. I’m on the same tires your looking at now and they ride nice, aired down to about 26 pounds each.

If/when I replace these tires I’ll be getting a set of 15 inch wheels and C Rated tires just so I can have real life comparison.

A few really good forum posts here on the difference in sidewall ratings between Cs, Ds and Es.

Thanks.

How rare?

What 33” inch tires are out there with a “C”?
You’re problem is the 16” Moab wheels. That’s a weird size rim. I know Jeep did it, but it is. You’re tire options drop severely. Try a similar 15” wheel, something like the Quadratec Rubicon or Mammoth Boulder’s. Then your tire choices skyrocket

I see now why some threads I have read dropped the Moab’s mid build!

As I will be driving to my destination (often hundreds of miles away) or going to our mountain cabin (that gets snow in the winter) the DuraTrac’s are actually a good fit for me because they do both of those things well.

When I’m done with this build I have a feeling I’ll get a Rubicon and on that I’ll put a better wheel size.

Although nothing is written in stone 😎
