For years I have wanted a Jeep. I went to the dealer 10 times over the last 20+ years to buy one. I have a character flaw in that I will not buy a car from a dealer that will not negotiate. I am sure that makes me a meathead, but I am what I am.
Early this spring I bought a 2001 Sahara. It is in pretty good shape. No rust, the 4.0 purrs like a kitten. I rebuilt the 3 speed automatic. I had a Jeeper who owns a garage go through it. I have all the tops, but as of yet I have kept the hardtop on fulltime. I don't have anyone to help me with the on and off of the HT. The AC works great. Overall, I am in love with it.
All that said to ask, would you buy a new Jeep? There will come a day when I am ready for a new vehicle. I am all about buying something with a great reputation for reliability and keeping it forever. I have owned a number of Toyotas for that very reason. My wife drives a 2019 4Runner we bought new.
Would you buy a new Jeep?
