Yeah, not to get this moved to the political forum but it seems a touch overboard for community policing unless it's a singular SWAT type thingMakes you wonder eh? I think the Local departments were training, the guys I saw were in full multicam gear.

That aside, those things are amazing. I'm not in a part of the military that has anything to do with them, but a pal took me for a spin in one at Eglin AFB and I was impressed - closing the passenger door was akin to shutting a vault.
Maybe it’s so they can show it off at the county fairNo I agree with everything you said. They are over the top for even SWAT. They are too expensive for departments to have, especially when they could have bearcats for a 1/10th of the cost and serve SWAT all the protection needed. Ours rolls out on calls less than a dozen times a year including training.
And yes, I think they are a great machine for our troops! The design is impressive and they move out fast for their size and weight!

Is there a concern for those things sinking into neighborhood asphalt streets? What do they weigh, 8 tons? The design is impressive and they move out fast for their size and weight!

Same tow mirrors as my Silverado, who makes those?
Good lord that's the weight of a half-fueled F-35 with no munitions. Who tows them out when they park on the grass shoulder?More like 40k pounds.
