Hello everyone.
My 1997 TJ with a 2.5L engine and manual transmission is exhibiting a peculiar behavior. After cleaning the throttle body and replacing the crankcase vent and brake booster vacuum hose, the idle remains steady at around 750-800 RPM when car stops. However, during certain driving scenarios, such as coasting downhill in neutral or approaching a traffic light and shifting into neutral without pressing the gas pedal, the idle stays to around 1200 RPM. It then gradually decreases to 800 RPM within 1-2 seconds after the vehicle comes to a stop. Is this behavior considered normal?
cheers
