Ok I have a 2006 Rubicon 6 speed with an intermittent misfire issue that I’ve been chasing for over a year. I’ve lost lots of money and sleep over this one and I can’t find an end in sight. The jeep will run perfectly all day long and then once you put the engine under heavy load ex. (Flooring it with engine fan locked for two full gears) and come to a stop at the next red light she will start to miss like crazy. If you increase the rpm to over 3k at the same light it will smooth out. If I then leave that light and drive 2-3 miles at a constant rpm calmly when I get to the next light it will idle perfectly again. If it’s idling rough and shut if off and park it for a week when I come back and start it again it will still be misfiring (as if it is stored in the ecu) after a short calm drive at constant rpm it will idle perfectly again. It will throw codes if I continue to let it misfire the check engine light will flash it seems to most commonly code out for cylinder 1 and 6 for the mis but not limited to those two. Engine has good compression.
I’ve replaced tps with oem mopar, plugs with coppers and autolite double platinum, the coil rail with 2 different brands, crank and cam sensors, crown opda, fuel injectors, fuel pump, ecu to a wrangler fix ecu, battery, ground and power cables, ntk o2 sensors, iac valve.
Please help
