Attempting to replace my ignition switch and actuator in my 06, but I've ran into a strange problem that is having me beat my head against the steering wheel. I'll attach pictures at the end.
I've got the switch and actuator reinstalled excluding the cover for the actuator and without the cover installed the key operates normally. However the second I put the cover on I can not turn the key to the off or accessory positions.
I did have a small component fall out of the cover during removal, I have attempted to install it in both ways it'll fit and either way I still have the same problem.
Edit: held cover in place without the little thing and key operated normally
Edit 2: I finally found a picture that shows that thing. I need to pull that little yellow tab while forcing the little bastard in the hole.

Piece that fell out, it's a not so great picture, but you can kind of make out the tab on the left that only allows it to be installed in 2 ways
