That is correct it also gets into the surface of the cast iron and keeps it from rusting.
In case anyone is wondering, ZEREX G-05 lifespan is "5 year/150,000 mile". Most other coolants are likely 3 year.
I only use the Mopar 5 year.
And comparison of how the inside of the engine block drain plug looks is stunning.
Pictures before and after are attached

I can't figure out what tool to use to get the block drain bolt out.
It looks like a 3/8s inch wrench head should work, but it's just a little too big.
I am using it, works as charm. Remember that that you finally open it, don’t be under the engine, unless you enjoy antifreeze showers.
I started to deal with all my cooling system because my Jeep was running hotter that it should in my opinion.I'm not having cooling issues on my 04 but it is time for a flush. Does this look like it needs Thermocure?

Thermocure is fertilizer and salt.
The Diammonium Phosphate is why the coolant is coming out black
Here is the MSDS

I started to deal with all my cooling system because my Jeep was running hotter that it should in my opinion.
In the process I found that I have a leaking heater core, Ton of rust inside the block etc.
in my opinion running good flush is always a healthy idea. Take into account that Thermocure removes only rust. You need something else to remove other deposits, I used BlueDevil.
When you remove the engine block drain plug , you can check how much rust you have on the inside. In my case I had quite a lot and thermocure removed all of it

Thanks for the reply.
So I need Blue Devil and not Thermocure?
I just saw another thread talking about Prestone Flush+Cleaner too...
difference between the 2 thermocure flushes. The first one on the right and the second one on the left. You can see that that the second there was almost rust,. So it didn’t turn too black.
