Howdy everyone, this is my first (real) post!
My 2001's lower u-joint on the intermediate steering shaft is shot (the one right above the steering box). Attached is a video of the u-joint play under slight back and fourth steering wheel movement.
This is contributing to some pretty serious steering wheel slop!
It seems TJs have a few differences in shafts over the years? Up to 1999, then to 2002, then 2003 on?
Any insight to what these differences are?
It sounds like the Borgeson (000875) may be the best option for my 2001. I know it doesn't come with the bearing, but I don't have any reason to believe mine is not reusable. It's just a shame it's $300+
Dorman and Crown have offerings for the various years, but in cross checking year model applications from site to site, there seem to be some conflicting information.
Which leads me to my question of what are the actual differences in (intermediate) steering shafts across the years of TJs?
