So after a long drive out to a junkyard a few weeks back, I started having issues with my TJ not cranking. Thing wouldn't turn over, no click from the starter, nothing.
So I'm stranded at the junkyard, after finding out all my main stuff was good and running fine (starter, fuel pump, etc) I turned to Google and start thinking it must be my keyswitch actuator.
Got lucky and this awesome kid at Autozone nearby drove it, and the security torx I didn't have, out to me and I replaced it right there.
Still didn't start. I was losing my mind at this point, it's late at night, I'm being eaten alive by mosquitoes. I decide one more time to check all my fuses (none of which are burned out).
You can't imagine how annoyed I was when it turned out to be a corroded contact on one of the fuses, that still wasn't blown.
Not long after this I started getting the "No Fuse" error on my dash, along with the no crank. Usually I'd mess with the fuses for a bit, reseating them, etc., and eventually get it started. So it still runs and drives, radio even works. But I still got the No fuse, and my interior lights wouldn't work at all.
Knowing it was related to the IOD fuse, but not seeing any issue with it, I said screw it, bought a new fuse, same problem.
I finally got around to taking apart the fuse box today, to find out that the IOD fuse wires directly into the "access 2" mini fuse. Which seemed weird to me but ok. Wires all look good, nothing melted or cut.
Pull the access 2 fuse, same issue as before. Not blown, but the contacts were all little burned / corroded.
Cleaned it up, popped it back in, everything is good as new.
Given how much of an issue I had figuring this out (or even finding info on it) I wanted to post it for anyone else looking for an answer to this problem.
TL;DR - IOD "No fuse" issue was caused by corroded fuse contacts on the "access 2" fuse, fuses weren't actually blown.
Edit: my TJ is an 06, wiring could very well, and likely is different on older models.
