Is dash pad damaged when passenger airbag deploys?

Does anyone know if when the TJ is in a accident and air bag deployed does it damage the pad that covers it Most cars I’ve worked on pad is damaged and dash has to be replaced. I am looking to replace mine had gotten a couple of cracks dident know if could use salvage part Like shown in picture

The previous owner of my TJ accidentally gave himself a concussion while messing with the wiring under the dash.
It appears the seam along the bottom and sides rip away neatly, the top seam acts as a hinge.
So, no. Unless you don't care if it has no air bag, and don't mind a couple screws holding down the flap.

Thanks that’s what my experience with other cars has been just wanted to confirm will look for a non blown one

And yes word to all if working on dash / air bag area etc DISCONNECT BATTERY

That cover has to be replaced. The metal "hinge" area wil never bend back. I've tried it, had to find a replacement. The dash also gets a bit tweaked but you can tweak it back.
