My OCD is getting the better of me and I want my 4x4 light on the dash to work. I just bought a replacement switch for the transfer case (Crown J8134473) and used the rubber ring from the old switch on the new one. But the new switch will not go in! I did notice some residue on the old switch's screw thread and I'm wondering if I stripped the thread on the transfer case as I was removing the old switch, which was a bit tough to untighten. I used dust buster to clean off any dust inside the switch hole but the new switch just turns without getting tight. Thoughts?
