Is there a procedure for solving noise in the cab

Did not know if someone has posted on tip and tricks to help get the noise in the cab lower. I have recently lined the the front and rear floor area with rubber sealant and good quality molded carpet. This was done due to the total lack of any floor covering. heat barrier was first need, sound I am sure is better.
The noise is wind noise to give it a location or place to start. It is a hard shell top. Whistling is loud but cant address it when driving of course. The whistle gets slightly better when the AC is in REC mode. Air is still being brought in but not at a rate when in normal AC. I have not pulled the top to check the sealing. I don't have a plan to pull it with one person? I have noticed some guys have a lift/storage devised,
I don't have a vented door or body it appears. Another post someone mentioned this as I was trying to find the reason for the noise out of the coil vent when I closed the doors
What else to look for or address. 1999 TJ, 266K miles, 4.0
 
Give up now while you still have sanity and money and buy some Rugged Radio headsets.

You mention that you don’t have a vented door or body. The ‘97-‘02 hardtops had vents in the c-pillars, while the ‘03-‘06 tops had no vents, as the vents had moved to the tailgate door. Do you have a late top on your early TJ?

Not asking to try and solve your whistling noise, but curious about the comment of not having vented doors.

Someone replied to any earlier post that I had a late model top. I don't know the difference. I don't see any evidence of any relief the jeep has. I don't know what I would be looking for?
This might have a bearing on cab noise?

My underlying reason to get the noise down, other than being able to talk to passengers, listen to the radio, take a cell call, for a few.
I am trying to diagnosis a noise in the drive line. I can hear it faintly, and I can reproduce it with throttle, inclines ect. We don't have many hills in Oklahoma city.

Here's the early hard top. See the vent on the c-pillar? Don't know that the lack of vent would cause any noise.

Update on cab whistling noise. Today while out, I did some more testing. It's 98 degrees today BTW.
When the AC is turned off, the whistling stops. I have a pressure relief problem it seems. I don't know how to fix it?
Question, in the recirculate mode in AC, I figured no fresh air was to be introduced? Never needed to give this a thought.
When my AC is on or on in the recirculate position the whistling noise is there. AC off no whistling

Have you tried cracking a window slightly with the AC on to see if that stops the whistling?

I've read (on another jeep forum) that the later model top on the early model TJ sometimes results in a whistling sound with the AC operating, but that cracking a window stops it due to the venting. I have no direct experience with this, but it's an easy thing to try the next time you're driving.

My reference was air came out the cowl opening at the back of the hood. I don't doubt air is escaping around the top seal.

There is a lot you can do- noico mat, hot head headliners, quality carpet, windshield seals. Every detail matters.
