I was getting ready to install my engine skid plate and noticed this. It looks like it’s broken, looks like a motor mount bracket. Can this part be replaced?

I'm really struggling to make sense of the pics on my phone..the engine mount bracket that bolts to the block should be one solid piece. If this is a 4.0 there is an issue of the bosses for the bolts breaking off the block. Is this what you are seeing?

It’s hard to tell, from underneath it looks like it’s broken. If the bolt broke off the block I’m assuming that it will be a pita to replace

Brown dog makes brackets just for this problem..I personally don't care for his mounts but maybe you could use the plates and use different rubber mounts? I would start by verifying the issue..maybe there isn't an issue?

The jeep rides fine, I don’t hear any weird noises or sounds, I just noticed that while I was there and it didn’t look right. So on that note maybe there isn’t an issue. I will look into it further though.

MrTeak-If I'm you, I'm looking at the inside of the frame. With this much external corrosion, you are probably quite rusty in the frame as well, and at the torque boxes.

Nothing looks broke to me. As for looking into it further Getting someone fairly strong to rock the engine side to side while you watch what happens to the stuff in your picture should let you know if something is actually broke or maybe worn out. Whatever you do, DON'T touch any of the bolts screwed into the engine block without soaking them with some Kroil or automatic transmission fluid/acetone serveral times over the next few days or longer.

Yes, I’ve read that they snap off pretty easy. I will rock the engine and check.
