After 2 weeks of daily driving the Jeep, I'm starting to get familiar with its mannerisms. One thing in particular is a little unsettling for me, i.e. the ride. The vehicle has what I'd describe as a "floating" ride, which is similar to cruising in a 60's era full size car. Also, when going into turns, there is considerable body roll, coupled with a sensation that the Jeep wants to shift sideways. The steering is all new and feels fine, so it's clear the suspension is the culprit.
That said, the current suspension is exactly as I bought it. New 2" springs front and rear, along with a 3/4" front spacer. Jeff told me the springs are new BDS, but I'm having a hard time validating the part numbers. When I search on the springs, Pro Comp gets identified as a partial part number match. The shocks are also new. Those are Rubicon Express, which I understand are Bilstein 5100s.
Other parts in the mix are stock control arms and rear track bar (with 100K on them), and a new JKS front track bar. I'm at a little bit of a loss on where to start here, but I only want to change one thing a time, to know what the impact is. If it helps, no substantial weight has been added, but it does have a hard top and full doors. Thoughts anyone?
