The hubbub is about switching the voting method in the middle of the vote. There are likers and dis-likers of each method, but that's a separate hubbub.

I wish there was a way to have the photo next to the option but unfortunately the XF developers didn’t do it that way. Hopefully in a future release, it will be better. Probably doesn’t help that there’s so many entries.

Voting goes until 12 AM MST tonight. The last day of the month does count
