Oregon Jeep Badge of Honor: Cedar Tree & Firebreak 5 (Tillamook State Forest)

My favorite place! Hope to go next weekend (in the JK, tho — my TJ is still kind of a Pavement Princess).
Oh man you might really want the TJ in those tight trees! It was fun watching JKU’s have to work harder to get through. 😂

Either way we would love to have you as part of our meetup, whenever that takes place!

That looks a lot diffrent from when I met you out there in the fall. I would love to get back out there this spring for some off-road social distancing.
Yeah it was a little trickier in some areas. Did you get your badges in the mail yet btw?

I only got one, so I must have done something wrong. I guess that's another reason to get out there again!

Great day with @gbirk and @Sicairos49 we tackled both (Cedar Tree & Firebreak Five) and we all made it out on our own wheels 😉.

Cedar Tree was a great mix of terrain and obstacles and the fog and rain just added to the atmosphere when we got up above the trees.

Firebreak 5 was a bit bumpier 😂, had a blast watching everyone climb the trails main feature, which was a significant hill climb full ruts, rocks and clay with a shelf at the top!

Followed by a mud pool full of monster tree roots.

Well we had to use winches twice (not where’d you expect) and we had one broken fuel line right at the end of the day. We repaired that right on the trail with a length of extra transmission cooler line and some bale wire.

The team came prepared, and we prevailed! Good times guys!

(I’ll post up some of the better actions shots of that hill climb after we have the chance to use them for ROTM potentially).
