Jeep Died on Trail - Fuel Pump Options

I don't know for certain but the 05-06 units may have different connectors for fuel and electric.

If an earlier pump would fit, it's possible that the PCM would cope with lower pressure by just increasing the time the injectors are open.

From what is shown on rockauto, it doesn't look like late model pump assemblies are available, and you would have to take the unit out and fit a new pump and strainers to the original assembly.

Just to wrap this thread up.....got the new bosch unit in today. packed very nicely with plenty of packing material. Installed it and turned the key to "run" and didn't hear anything !!! Hesitantly turned key to start and the jeep started right up! This pump is so quiet. Hopefully it lasts longer than my OEM Chrysler one did that just failed. That pump was only five years old.
