Hey y'all! I have a 98 jeep TJ with a 4.0 motor and manual trans, I brought it to a mechanic to diagnose a idling issue and someway or another the PCM got shorted out by the 02 sensor while they were driving it (so they claim). Sure enough the PCM was bad and the jeep wouldn't start. I replaced the PCM with a brand new one, and replaced the 02 sensor just for kicks. The jeep started first try, drove about 60 feet and then died immediately. None of the gauges work and the jeep won't start. Before I put any more money into this thing i wanted to see if you guys had any solutions for me, thank you!

after poking around the wiring harness and reconnecting all my PCM connections, the car started? So I then drove it again, and it died mid drive, so I pulled over and then did some more investigating, turns out that there’s something wrong with my wiring harness or a connector because when I shook my wire harness, the whole engine died, so I guess I’ll be taking apart my wiring harness lol

Much as @Wranglerfix loves selling another PCM we all love actually solving the problem...and a lot of the bad wiring harness problems get foisted on "it's a bad PCM." So good for you for checking.

Common place to check is the back of the valve cover where the harness makes a hard left headed to the PCM. You'd probably be better off removing the whole thing... it's not complicated and you can probably ignore the headlight section for now... delooming and visually inspecting the harness. You probably should ohm everything out...but start with a visual inspection.

You forgot a period, followed by a capital letter. I finally got a new job. ;)

No, he just forgot a comma. This is not a sentence: "Much as @Wranglerfix loves selling another PCM."
Try this one:
(As) much as @Wranglerfix loves selling another PCM, we all love actually solving the problem.

Should we provide our Grammar Police badge number when we're discussing this stuff?

Now that's a comma splice error.

Don't make me dust off my 30 year old journalism degree.
