Jeep Wrangler TJ LED Headlight Upgrade Options

Any pics of these headlights at night? Probably will be more helpful to those trying to make a decision. I'm interested in the Truck Lights personally, but nightime pics of any would be great for the thread.

I have to admit, the light output on those Lantsuns is nearly identical to the Truck Lites!

Nope, they literally plug right in. Easiest install you'll ever do. You'll be happy you did too, as you know, the factory lights are just garbage.

Any Amazon link that is posted on the forum automatically converts to have the tag at the end. So, just use the link in the original post, or this one:

:)
Hey Chris, ordered these at your recommendation. Got them installed yesterday. Wow, what a difference. Thanks for the recommendation. Do they make one for the fog lights also? Thanks

I have a 2002 Sport, and of course the stock headlights are terrible! I definitely need something brighter, but I am on a bit of a budget and would like some recommendations. I live in an area that the streets are not well lit, so I need some decent output headlights. What would be the simplest replacement? I have never replaced a Jeep headlight before, so it is all kinda new to me, so I am looking for beginner level installation. I would prefer to get LED lights, but are there any halogens that have a similar level of brightness?

No halogen will have anywhere near the level of brightness as an LED. Not to mention that the LEDs are just as cheap as a halogen light.

However, if you insist on halogens read the first post and you'll see I listed numerous halogen options that will be brighter than stock.

Question about the Lantsuns. Are all the lights in that amazon link, Lantsuns? I really don't care for the bug eye look of the multiple bulbs. Anyone try the other LED from that link? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012IMIAGI/?tag=wranglerorg-20

I have the Hella H4 headlights, and am fairly happy with them, definitely better than stock! I do like the fact that they are glass. Are the Lantsuns really that much brighter than the Hella? One thing I LOVE about the Hella, is the light pattern! The cut off is perfect and sharp. I was thinking of getting better bulbs, but it seems like those are like $120 and don't last all that long, plus I'd need wiring kit? If the Lantsuns are plug and play, with no wiring kit, then they'd be cheaper and last longer.

If you like the beam the Hellas put out I'd say stick with them.

What bulbs are you thinking of putting in them?

All of the headlights you see that look like the Lantsuns are the same because they're made in the same factory in China as all the others. Same exact lights, just branded under different names (typical Chinese way of doing things).

Those second ones you linked to are copies of the JW Speakers and have quite good light output from what I've been told, really good actually.

The LEDs really are that might brighter than the Hellas, I promise. My buddy has the Hella halogen headlights on his TJ and anytime I turn on my Truck Lite LED headlights when I'm around him, he's even always commenting on how much brighter they are.

You will need to upgrade your wiring harness if you go with a more powerful bulb. At that point, this is why I recommend people get LEDs. Not only are they brighter than halogens, but you don't have to worry about wiring harness' or anything like that. It's just plug them in and go!

Well, the ones linked on this post is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VNBEJ1G/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Those are $100, plus I'd need wiring harness? So about $120. Even is I don't need the harness, it's only $30 cheaper than the Lantsun LED. I'm curious to know the light output difference.

Someone posted this LED headlight, but I can't find too much info besides his one opinion. It's $289, but it's the nicer design, and also halo. (I know, some people don't like) I'd prolly jump on these, if again, I knew it would be a noticeable improvement. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WL8X3HQ/?tag=wranglerorg-20

Thx. So it's definitely better to go with the LED, than new bulbs and harness for my Hella. I could pobably sell the Hella to a friend for $50. I'm wondering which lights give better pattern, the bug eye/multi bulbs, or the 2 bulb style.

Can you take a look at this one, and give your opinion? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WL8X3HQ/?tag=wranglerorg-20

If I were going to get any of those I'd get the ones in the second link. The ones in the first link are just LED replacement bulbs, and in a halogen headlight housing (that they weren't designed for) will not look that great IMHO.

Besides that, they are $100, and for something like $120 (give or take) you can get a brand new set of LED headlights and then sell your Hellas for a little bit of money to recoup some of the cost.

The Truck Lites IMHO are the best LED headlights out there. They are however a bit spendy at $322. However, these are an exact knock-off of them, and I suspect they work just as good for half the price: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G4Y19WI/?tag=wranglerorg-20
