The "banner" saying you're a supporting member and normally you have to have x number of posts before you can participate in the ROTM (Vote/Enter). I think it also allows the individual to private message more people than a non-supporting member.

I was trying to be a nice guy and lead with mercy and grace. Unfortunately he is just too far off the rails.
I’ve wondered for years when he would get the boot. He was obnoxious as hell in virtually every interaction I saw of him. I wanted to ignore him myself just because he was so annoying but never wanted to miss the shenanigans so I never did.

Personally, I had 2 on my ignore list which I went back and un-ignored.
Figured it was stupid and petty on my part, probably should have kept my mouth shut anyways instead of getting "Moi" panties in a wadd over disagreements (surely?) about politics.
