You can go from Dartmoor which is quite a baron landscape but go 20 miles and end up in thick forest then another 20 miles and you hit the rugged coastline.but its cold compared to where live now haha

Similar climate to Oregon, no doubt. I'd rather live in the warm personally, but it would be nice to visit!

Me too...18 years of rain or drizzle and maybe 2 weeks of sort of warm weather then moved to NZ and wow...I really appreciate the warmer climate lol

Thanks for sharing the awesome pics, @Kiwi TJ! Phenomenal scenery, and I love all the machinery related stuff, as well. Just a wonderful place to be, my friend. Count your blessings!

You just gotta get a bit north. Kettle Moraine in Wisconsin is only a couple hours from you, and its pretty neat. Not as rugged as the pics that Kiwi posted, but some nice hills and trees. If you really wanna get north, Drive through Wisconsin, and get into the UP. Its about 6 hours from Chicago...The Porcupine mountains are nice, lots of wilderness and mines in the Iron Mountain area. Keep going north, and you get to Copper Harbor (probably 8 hours from Chicago). LOTS of ruggedness there. You get to see places like this...

Drive right up to the shoreline...no one cares (cuz there isn't a SOUL around, cept you)

Not to mention the Panhandle where i am at. It's all flat lands for thousands of miles. New Zealanders are lucky!
