I was fortunate enough to attend King of Hammers this year. It’s best described as organized chaos. During the day most trails are closed due to the races. At night all the trails are open to the public. All the popular trails turn into a total free for all. Trail parties and wheeling that you have to see to believe. The weather was good this year. It’s the desert in February so it’s windy, cold and dry. Had a great time! I recommend it to anyone who loves 4-wheeling. Here’s a few pictures I took. I’ll post some videos once I get them uploaded to YouTube.

Good lord thats a lot of people. I can picture about 20 different people telling the driver where to go. I like my trails with about 5-6 rigs is all.

That said, I'd love to go to Johnson Valley and give it a shot, looks like an absolute blast.

Our group of 5 Jeeps ran Big Johnson Tail. One tough spot on the upper end. I had the small tires with 37’s. One other guy was running 37’s but they were 13.5 wide. Everyone else was running 40’s, out-boarded shocks and King coil overs. One had spidertrax axles, another Dana 60’s, another had a 14-bolt I believe. Nice rigs for sure. Carl was my spotter. He was great.

It’s a blast. Be prepared for the chaos on the trails at night. It’s fun to watch for sure. The hecklers are funny as hell.

Some racers coming down Chocolate Thunder during the EMC race.

Tube rig getting some ballast weight. (I don’t recommend this)

Just ran across this thread. I went in 2017 with a bunch of SoCal buddies that have Razors. Fun as hell. The night time was the best. You hit it right on the button..neck beards and alcohol. We went to the top of those night time hills to watch the guys try and climb the rocks. Fun as heck.
