Colorado Krew Hangout

It's been several years since I was there. The Jeep was on 33s with about 3" of lift and stock arms.

Poughkeepsie is rocky and bumpy, but not difficult. The Ledge may not be doable, but there is a bypass. Mine couldn't do it. Or I couldn't at the time.

Good to know. Thanks man. He's on the classic XJ build you know how those are. Big tires big lift but no skids no lockers. He also has a lot of over landing gear.

If anyone has tips of things to see (other than the alpine loop) out there lmk. We're doing medano first then going to kite lake so far. We might be trying to leave the alpine loop for when another friend gets his jeep fixed.

When I left Alaska, and moved down here I was surprised by the amount of people complaining about winter.

Co workers were literally annoyed we had snow on the ground for more then 48 hours. And that following spring/ summer lots of rain.

Now we get to this year hardly any snow, and it hasn't rained. So everything is a tinder box.

Which would you rather have.
If you want 82* every day. Move back to California

Post if you hear back. Slaughterhouse was all clear cut over last year, got scared that was for development but turned out to just be fire mitigation. Hopefully something similar

Here's their response: "The grading and maintenance occurring in the Yankee Hill area is focused on ensuring access for emergency vehicles. Both 175.1 and 739.1 are routes used to reach many areas of the forest, including the Columbine Campground, so the work is designed to help the roads be more maintainable for emergency vehicle usage."

Still doesn't clear up where all they're doing this but definitely a reasonable explanation.

that was a fast response. With all the fires popping off in last two days easy access is a great thing

I’m on vacation this week and going to hit some trails Monday (tomorrow) and probably Thursday 8/22. Maybe Red Cone, Upper Geneva, not sure. Shout out if you’ll be in the area!
