Larger tires on a stock lift?

Hey guys, I want to put some larger tires on my stock Sahara but am worried about rubbing both on the fender/flare and on the inner fender when turning the jeep as it is my DD. I love the look of the tires coming slightly outside the flare soI am considering some 15x8 Pro-Comp series 97 steel wheels with 3.75 backspacing (with the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern obviously). If I stay stock and pair these wheels with a tire around 31-32 in, say a 265/75, would I be ok for a DD? The most "offroading" I will be doing in the near future would be camping or fishing, so I'm not concerned about major flexing. If anyone has pictures of a similar set-up I would love to see them and hear how it has worked for you. Thanks!

Here is the link for the wheels if anyone is curious: http://www.quadratec.com/products/92600_002X_P5__PG.htm

With that back spacing your wheels will definitely stick out past the fender flare and give you the look you're after, no doubt about it.

In addition, you can comfortably run 31" tires on a stock TJ Wrangler suspension without any issues. Going up to a 32" tire will indeed fit on the stock suspension as well, it may just be a little tighter, but as long as you don't plan on doing any major off road flexing you'll be just fine!

FYI, here is stock suspension on 32" tires:

Awesome, looks great! Thanks for the help, only thing is I'm having a hard time finding a 265/75r15 tire. Any suggestions on where to look or another size to look for?

That is a good size tire! I would look as Discount Tire if you have one locally. They will match ANY price you can find online.

I did my own and I cost me less than $800 for both !

My gears were $600 for everything and the labor was $600.

Wish I trusted myself to do it on my own. I can rebuild a motor and do all that, but all the talk I hear about gear lash and shims makes me feel like I'd mess something up.

WOW!!!!

Is that including parts or not?
yeah that includes importing the parts but it does not include VAT(20% taxes), mechanics hour rates just cost a lot of money over here, I would have to travel a fair distance to, to find a firm I can trust to do the work. People don't usually re-gear vehicles here so its seen as specialist work.

Wish I had the experience and space to do that sort of work myself.

I hadn't driven a TJ w/3.07 gears until the one I just bought. I was floored! How could they let that get through production? I haven't done the math to see how close they are but a TJ on 30s with 3.07s seems to turning the same RPMs as my TJ on 33s with 4.10s.
my saraha left the factory on 28inch wheels now that i have gone up to 31 it does not feel like there is much difference between 4th and 5th gear on the high way

I've never driven one with 3.07 gears. Is it really bad?

Chris I also have had Northridge in Washington do a front and rear on my current jeep. $500 an end. Love working with those guys.

I paid Dan's gears in Sherwood $300 per axle to do my gears. Can't argue with that price!

Did that include the Yukon gears? Mine did.

No, the complete RGA gear kit was $599 with the master install kits. So $600 for the gears and $600 for labor. Not as good as yours of course, but I had to have the RGA gears!
