LED headlights and static

So I put in led headlights, truck light knock offs, a few weeks back and their great. Everything worked great. Replaced my factory head unit with a Kenwood this weekend and it sounds great. Except I get static every time I turn on the headlights. I figure the headlights are the root of the problem. Does anyone know of any sort of filter that I can put inline?

I'd start by making sure you have the body properly grounded. Not too familiar with static filters, but I have read that bad grounding can cause RFI static interference.
I know there's a pair of braided straps from the back of the head on a 4.0l that go to the firewall and the hood.

I have the same headlights and issue. I added ferrite chokes to the headlight wiring. It may have helped a little bit but I still get static in my CB pretty bad. I typically don't listen to AM/FM radio any more so that part doesn't bother me as much.

Interesting. I had Truck Lites and an aftermarket head unit and never had this issue at all. Hell, I've had a number of LED headlights and never had this issue. I would have to assume it has something to do with a grounding issue.

It may be aliens trying to contact you through the radio? Or the switched mode power supply inside the lights are causing noise in the electrical system.

Probably aliens though.

I knew it, DAMMED aliens. Now I'll have to re calibrate my flux capacitor and photon shields.

I had the same problem. Chinese knockoffs, I added ferrite chokes to the headlight wiring also (the magnet on computer power plugs) and that helped. Other than that started listening to more podcast/downloaded music and less radio stations.

Update: Had to remove the stereo one more time to add the signal wire for the sub. After that no more static. Must have separated some wires that were causing the interference. Bright headlights, good tunes, I'm a happy guy. Happy new year

Same here and I'm running cheap LED knockoffs.

Update: Had to remove the stereo one more time to add the signal wire for the sub. After that no more static. Must have separated some wires that were causing the interference. Bright headlights, good tunes, I'm a happy guy. Happy new year
