I recently bought my TJ with a selling point to the wife we could use it to carry our kayaks. Does anyone else use their TJ as a man-powered watercraft carrier? Let's see some pics.

Got one of these for the truck and jeep. Not tried on the jeep yet, can mount upright too.

That is how I got the idea for my set up. Hubby made mine though. The T part on mine swivels so I can load my kayak easier.
Used a KC light bar in front to support a canoe and tied the ends with ratchets. Used split pipe insulation on the edges to prevent rubbing. Worked well, and that was a huge canoe.

Did the truckers hitches not put too much downward pressure on the hardtop? I know when you fit cross bars they have to go a specific distance in from the edge where hard top its the strongest.Howdy All

Three 17' Grumman canoes plus four cargo boxes and a bunch of paddles on the rack:

I plan on just tying mine right to my roll bars with the top down at first, but eventually I might want to get one of these and a lightbar so I can keep the top on. I'm worried about putting the kayak directly on top of the soft top
