I bought my Jeep in 2015 with 151k miles on the clock. I bought it as my first vehicle as a new driver. 1997 sport, so 4.0 with the 32rh with Dana 30/35 and 3.07 gears, soft top, which I would quickly learn was worn out, and a light bar for old round lights. It also had steel bumpers, swing out tire carrier and a winch.

At the point of posting this my Jeep is almost at 220k miles.

My goal since I got it the goal was a daily vehicle that I could take offroad and still drive to work the next day. I always had this idea that a jeep could go anywhere. It could do some crazy rock crawling after driving hundreds of miles there. My goal has, and will, always be a vehicle that's street legal and competent off road.

On of the first things I did was get rid of that light bar for an outer rack/cage for carrying surfboards and such. But move the lights onto the outer cage.

And finally, new tires in preparation for a 3k mile road trip. I'm pretty sure this road trip with a worn out soft top is why my hearing isn't so great any more.

Those 33s were really stuffed in there for 4 years before I finally got my 4" lift kit installed. And immediately had to install an sye. I have no garage and no real space to do a transfer case swap so I put in an iron rock offroad hack-n-tap sye. It has held up to daily use the last 2 years.

Finally, the gf and I were prepping for our 3k mile road trip through all season, we saw desert snow and everywhere in between, we purchased, painted and installed a hard top.

We painted it with rust-oleum bedliner pro. It goes on glossy and bubbles to create a matte sandpaper texture. It's not rubbery and it hasn't come off in over a year and a half of california sun.

Also before that trip I had a super 35 like kit with an oz locker installed. Maybe one day I'll run the line for the electronic actuation, but for now I am just using the bolt in lock/unlock setup as the type of trips I take rarely require locking. I also had a trutrack up front. Both with 4.10 gears. What a difference to be able to maintain speed uphill!

In the last year, no photos, I've installed jks track bars front and rear. A correctlync steering setup. A 3rd brake light(after getting rear-ended 3 times I decided idiot needed more warnings). Replaced the lights in the footwells(what a difference!). Installed a stereo and amp setup to drive 2x6.5 and 2x5.25 speakers as well as a 10" sub. I installed acoustic and insulating padding. New exhaust from the manifold back. Adjustable upper control arms. And I have a built up np231 ready to install. (hmu if you're in the bay area and are looking for one to build)

My current goals are: replace the outer cage with an aluminum one to reduce weight but keep the function and look. Anti rock up front. Install my new transfer case(with a super short sye[it's a 1997 so I have to also adjust the wiring connector]). New driver side seat. Paint the flairs dark grey. I have a new TV cable in the mail to fix shifting issues. Eventually rebuild or replace my engine.

Obligatory random cool shots. I'm usually the one behind the camera in my group so I don't get many action shots.

Thanks! This was just a bunch of photos I have laying around. Over time I'll get more!

Like when I realized I needed a hard top

Or that time someone went wide in a roundabout a forced me to run into the curb. Which happened to be right where a steel plated storm drain opening was

Over the last few months I took my front bumper off to repaint it. (I will have to again cause I got lazy). But mostly I took it off to install my swayloc. I made sure to rust convert my frame where I could.

I sold the cargo rack. Until I get a better one I just have a simple one that goes on the hard top. We still buy wood too often to not have a rack.

Then got married. That's really been slowing down some things on the Jeep :p

I had Tuesday off before Thanksgiving. So I dropped the skid and learned that 3 of the 6 bolts done actually hold the skid up. They come right through.

Then I replaced the transfer case with a new one I install a JB Super Short SYE in. The old one had a hack n tack sye to get by. But now I'm comfortable removing the tcase drop. It's a 97 so I had to adapt the VSS wiring. I'll be emailing JB with my wiring harness colors since they don't match anywhere else online.

Now just waiting on my new drive shafts from Tom Woods and my new skid from Barns. Then it's time to repaint the bumper and skid. Re-install my winch and fog lights. And I'll be good to go. New drive shafts come in time to grab the Christmas tree.

So a little update on what I've done so far:
4 inch lift
33 inch tires
Removed the body armor rack(likely gobi or a custom one in the future)
JB Super Short SYE
Super 35 with an ox locker
Eaton LSD in the front
Genright extended range gas tank
Savvy double adjustable aluminum control arms(6 of 8 installed. Need to do the front upper JJs)

On order/waiting to be installed:
PRP Enduro recliners
Barns transmission skid
@Jeep Hardware bolts for my windshield hinge
Custom switch panel using stock panel
Fix auxiliary light wiring. I took it all out cause the PO made a fire hazard

Things I'll eventually do:
Gobi rack or similar custom rack
Morryde tailgate to replace my swing out carrier
Better rocker armor
Fender flairs(new or paint mine)
Replace all marker lights
Figure out what's leaking oil
Paint or vinyl wrap

Hopefully I'll be better moving forward about updating this thread.

My main goal is a daily able jeep that can go most anywhere. I don't want to have to trailer it to trails. I most recently did 180 miles in death valley NP including Steele(bender?) Pass.

PRP seats come Wednesday.
New hard top seal and gasket are ready for install as well.

Then I just need a better towing bumper and to mount my spare on the gate again.

Got around to a new bumpers. Let me tell you, removing the frame tie in from the old Smittybilt SRC bumper was a huge PITA. But I did get to replace the body mounts back there. I had to remove the gas tank to get to the mounting bolts. But I'll blame the larger genright tank for that.

While I was at it I put the morryde gate on. I had to drill out over bolt but the roll bar bolt. And that one was close to being drilled out as well. It's now fused with the next size up torx bit. But it's out.

With the poison spider corder armor I had to get some 3/16 steel to make mounting spacers. Not too hard of a task. You can't really tell unless I tell you. A couple bolts need to be longer too.
