I'm working this morning to remove the K&N Cold Air Intake the previous owner installed on my Jeep LJ (2006). I've picked up a replacement air cleaner box assembly and intake tube, but seem to have gotten a bit of a mix of parts here.

The intake tube has provisions for the IAT sensor, but no crankcase tube; and the air filter lid does not have the provisions for the crankcase vent either (I believe for my year this is where the crankcase vent would typically go).

What are my options here? I'm currently leaning towards trying to find a plastic hose barb of the same size as the valve cover and JB weld it into the intake lid (putting the crankcase vent on the clean air side of the filter. Is that the smartest move here?

Is there a reason I cant just toss a c orankcase breather/filter on the valve cover and not even worry about butchering the intake?

I think either option would work. That front hose is the fresh air intake into the crankcase, so a filtered air source is all that is needed.

If you have emission inspections in your state, the inspector might be happier if everything looks stock.
