Lonewolf's 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport

I've been watching the fordyce creek levels and they went way down on Thursday so I decided to do a day trip to Fordyce and see how far I could get. I convinced @Alex01 and my buddy to go with me too. It was a hell of a day. We made it to winch hill one and turned around we weren't able to do it due to trail traffic and a overtaxed power steering box . There was a lot of water from all the run off but the rocks didn’t disappoint. Here’s the photo dump

What a fun day!!!! I can't wait to get out there again. Fordyce is definitely now one of my favorite CA trails if not on the top of the list.

Even better. I'm hitting the rubicon memorial day. Was there any snow at Fordyce?
That will be fun, yea I guess the trail was impassable after winch hill 2 , no one has made it all the way yet According to a guy with a built JL on 40s . He tried to come in through meadow lake and he said the snow drifts were still too deep to make it through

I had a cheap 16 foot car trailer for about 10 years. It has has hauled everything from my jeep to quads and even a unimog one time.

it only had brakes on one axle and they were only 3500 pound axles so I know I was always close to the max most of the time. I was going to upgrade it with 5k axles. I ended up finding a deal on a 20 foot with dual 7k axles with brakes on both axles and selling my original for way more than I paid

I haven’t updated in a bit but I finally finished the bumper. did a bunch of routine maintenance like plugs, wires , changed the oil in everything and I took the family on some trails in the Sierras and took it down to Pismo.

My grandfather use to take me to Pismo back in the 60's. He'd drive his CJ towing a trailer with bald tires and when we'd get there he'd swap out the tires and rims and we'd run the dunes on these nearly bald street tires. This was back in the day before specialty tires. I haven't been to Pismo since I was stationed at Ft Ord in the early 90's.

Some great shots and looks like loads of fun.

The water level is still low so me , @Alex01 and @Choptop1954 did a day trip to Fordyce. It was a ton of fun , there was only a few other people on the trail so the traffic jams were short. Heres my photo dump of the trip

Very cool. Can you not get through when the water is higher?

I worked on the trailer a bit more. I wanted a receiver hitch on the front so I can use a winch if needed or a secure place to use as a anchor.

The trailer fenders came with a sticker on them that said not a step and they weren’t kidding. I couldn’t step out of the Jeep without flexing them 3 inches and after awhile they weren’t springing back. So I added some center bracing and now they are rock solid. I’m not sure why they didn’t come like this from the factory

Nice job, the winch is a great addition and thanks for reminding me 😞 I need to brace mine up too when I used to haul hay on it the guys at the feed store would line dance on them.
