Ok, this is probably just a pipe dream, but I would like to find a fan that makes a loud whining noise like the old CJ2A we had back in the 80's. Is this possible? Has this been brought up before? The Old CJ2A fans were 4 blade and I wouldn't want to try to put one of those on my Jeep. They wouldn't pull enough air I wouldn't think.

Can you make the sound you are looking for?

I haven't ridden in a 2A in 30 years so I don't remember what it sounded like but fan sounds aren't usually what people describe as a whine. You may have been hearing something else.

The TJ makes mostly just rushing air sound because the uneven blade spacing breaks up any blade pass tones.

Cut some straws in thirds. Tape them perpendicularly to each of the fan’s long blade edges on the side cutting through the air. Make sure the tape is secure. Now you can hear whistling’ Dixie anytime you drive.
