That's exactly why I say make large adjustments at first and then dial it in.
It would be nice to know what 0 looks like, but I do think the teeth are out of the root and ok for a front axle. Will these teeth brake in and move the pattern slightly?

Btw when breaking in the gears, do I need to be in 4wd? or just rolling do it? I'm replacing all the steering and suspension at the same time, so I was gonna put it all back in and run it for a bit, checking the suspension and then pull the rear axle and change the gears back there.

no 4wd until both axles match gear ratios.
you can use 4hi to drive on the new gears, if you pull the rear driveshaft.

I was gonna pull the front until my rear was finished. But I guess unloaded, I won't be breaking them in?

I think I'm gonna roll with this setup unless someone sees an issue. I'm done for the night and not sure how much this week I can work on this during the weekday. I've still got a lot left. I wanted to touch up some rust and do some fresh paint in spots but it's been like 20s so I may have to wait on that.

Thanks everybody.

Just got on....I like the pattern in #9 better. If you still have those numbers, go with it and button it up.

Nice job for first time out.
Thanks for all the guidance and help. For years I've wanted to do a gear swap myself but in this case I planned to just grab a Dana 30 and 35 with desired gear ratio. I found a dana 35 for cheap and have a ZJ with the dana 30 with 3.73s. I didnt realize until I got home but the axle tube had spun the Dana 35 and my ZJ was so rusted and it would take me a long time to get motivated to regear the axle I'm doing now so I decided to regear my current setup and just rebuild the whole axle and then move onto doing a Super 35 kit in the rear with the regear.

Looking at my tire tread wear patterns I knew I had to address some steering and suspension stuff, so went ahead and pulled the front so I could freshen it up. So by the end of winter, I'll have new steering and suspensions, engine and then next year tackle the Tcase maybe and exhaust, tummy tuck, etc.
