Looking for steering upgrade options

But when you swapped from zj to currie did you break something or did you just want to get rid of the hollow tube drag link?? this piece concerns me too so im kinda leaning to the currie now.....

The drag link is the same for the TJ and the ZJ upgrade, it’s the tie rod that’s different. The TJ’s is hollow and the v8 ZJ’s is both solid and thicker.

I bent mine a few times and planned on the Currie eventually anyway. Then I found a deal I couldn’t pass up from another forum member.

The ZJ conversion is inexpensive enough to do and evaluate if you need anything more based on your usage.

Read up on the TJ -> ZJ here:

it was the drag link that was being bent then right?

Currie is worth it if you play in the rocks along with the heat treating option. Not true 1 ton ends but its only connecting to little dana 30/44 outers anyway. better than anything that resembles factory as far as durability is concerned.

I have a 2003

Where do you recommend buying a seal kit from, and is there a recommended “training” video??

So far I only found this kit in Canada I think
Price quadrupled from the 2002

I personally don’t have recommendations as I haven’t done the job before. The price hike is not surprising - 2003 and up have the Mercedes box, earlier Jeeps have the Saginaw box.

Maybe give West Texas Offroad a call and ask what they use when they rebuild them.
