Awesome-

- you can make a lot of money that way, not a thing wrong with letting a specialist wear them out. You’ll never see an insurance company go bankrupt- They get their money on the front side for years.

- you can also make more money with the time she saves you- now you can watch your business, watch for waste, shop for better parts deals or lord help, have a day off occasionally.

I came to the place that I found I did three things well-

-Develop work

-solve design and implementation problems

- make sure we finish strong and get paid, which helps me get more work to develop, etc.

Anything that gets in the way of that someone else does, or doesn’t get done.

No one should ever be tied down to ownership to the point that they can’t do what’s best for them- It takes a smart person to say “hey I think somebody can handle this insurance company better than I can, etc.” It also takes a little humility.

Once you get a business rolling, there are a lot of ways to make money. You can make a lot of money by how do you spend money.

And profit is not evil- it is what allows you to be there for the customer later to warranty that work or help them again. It allows your employees children to get Christmas, dental care and school clothes. It makes the world go round.

I grew up around auto body, as well construction. You have my respect. Businesses that produce a finished product-especially one that has to rival the factory work that is now at the highest level it’s ever been, and please customers that can be downright ridiculous on quality and service, earn their pay.

Never forget you have the freedom to change anything at any time to make your business work. Business owners play the victim so many times or lie to themselves about why they’re not successful. Most of the time businesses are not successful because they suck. They are filthy, disorganized and give crappy service and quality. It is not a competition, It is the mindset of the people at the business that makes the difference.
Truer words have never been spoken, and to be as accountable and as humble as I can, I know that I have a ton of work to do to get this place cleaned up and moving more fluid... thanks for you insight, ive had such an interesting year with new marriage and moving farther away from work that Ive let things get a little lax ... its time to get it back straight again.

PM if you ever need me- I don’t know everything but I’m a believer in giving it 100 percent - There is never a “ we have made it “ place- You have to stay on top of your game, You have to stop and clear the decks occasionally- I’ve been doing some of that lately because my business is evolving and I want to be ahead of the curve .

Also I really encourage owners to really understand organization- Taking it to a level where you can maintain it and it isn’t an elusive goal- That’s something that helps you make your work almost effortless.

Body shops and construction companies both deal with variation- This generates leftover parts that you’re afraid to throw away and keeping them drives you crazy, It creates chasing things that are unique to the project, It is dusty work- And if you don’t stay on top of it pretty soon you can’t even walk around the place.

This is how I roll-This trailer looks like this all the time.
