Why did you outboard?

To get lower shocks mounts up behind the axle instead of hanging well below the axle. Some trails don't give you options for different lines. Sometimes backing up resulted beating up the shock. I decided to buy more expensive shocks and didn't want to beat them up.

On that note, combined with my outboard tuned shocks, the SwayLOC, and the PSC, I have noticed that huge crosswinds on the highway that used to blow my rig around at high speeds no longer seem to have much effect. This has made the vehicle entirely different to drive on the highway. Whereas once I hated highway trips in the TJ, now I love them.

I think people (myself included) tend forget that our vehicles are really a series of systems working together and focus too much on replacing a single part to solve an issue.

When I was experiencing death wobble I found a lot of posts that said to replace the stabilizer or the tires, etc. But what I found was that most of my steering components had worn bushings and I had to replace multiple part in that system to solve the problem.

Since starting this thread I’ve replaced a few things within a few days of each other, so I got to see how each made an effect on there own.
After I installed new ranch shocks I wasn’t happy with the ride (too soft). I assumed the shocks were the problem.
Disconnected the sway bar and ride and handling was better (to me). Installed new sway bar and improved the ride and control but was still riding a little soft.
Then, I replaced the springs and boom. No more soft feeling in the ride. Major improvement in ride and handling.

Now, I’m waiting for my rear sway links to be delivered so I can install the “new to me” stock rear sway bar. I’ve got no doubt that I’m going to note another step of noticeable improvement.

No to both. I do not have tuned shocks yet. Soon though. I run a stock sway bar. I have no complains of body roll on road. I am just exploring options on a solution for off road.

The Fox LSC do work for REAL. I use three different settings according to the terrain. My rig is a trailer queen so rarely sees asphalt, usually from the trailer to the trail. So, on the street, I will run up to "9" clicks clockwise. On fire roads/dirtroads, I will drop to 5 (maybe 6 rear/7 front on windy dirt roads), hit the rocks and usually down to "1". I am still experimenting on the street. The off road seems pretty dialed in. I am running a Ant-rock. The last trip out, I "clicked" up higher only becuase it crossed my mind when installing the Antirock. It seemed to be just like the old OE swaybar really, no passenger screaming or input, so that was good.

Have you actually weighed it? My previous TJ was 4100 lbs. even on a truck scale with a similar configuration to yours including the RE long-arm suspension.

No, I did weigh my old CJ5 and it was 4700. I have more crap on the TJ. I am assuming. Probably should weigh it just to know.

My rear sway bar and links have been delivered and installed today. Man, what a difference. No idea why my Jeep didn’t come with one when I got it but it definitely feels better.

just FYI.. right now there are 3 antirocks available in Ebay with "damaged box" for $412 bucks.. there were 4 available but I just order mine hahaahh..

I've got a front anti rock coming this week.

My TJ is my daily driver too. Have you driven yours with the links disconnected? I removed the front sway bar after driving a few days with it disconnected because the ride quality was way better IMO. It was not hard for me to decide on going with the antirock after that.
Its certainly not cheap but cheaper than the swayloc and it has less moving parts which usually means less points of failure in my experience. It also seems to be more in line with what I want, better ride quality, safer than no sway bar, and ease of use. Also, I really like the fact there is no step between going from street to off road with the antirock over the swayloc.

We'll see how it works out. I have a lot more body roll now with the Rancho shocks installed too so I'm planning to swap them out as soon as I can swing it.

I find on days where I wheel hard I'm dropping pressure and airing up anyway so flipping a switch doesn't take me out of the cab or extra time. Swaylock for me is the way. They have an air switch option as well.

Flipping the lever is something to do while airing down or up. I don't want all the extra details that could go wrong with an air switch. KISS. YMMV.

Agreed. The air actuator has never interested me beyond a novelty and maybe a few quick on the fly locked unlocked comparisons.

Here in Michigan I’m not always airing down. At least not in winter or when I’m just driving over driving over an uneven field type area. There are so many shitty roads here that it is nice having that extra forgiveness/flexibility. It’s the best solution for how I use my Jeep. IMO of course. The swaylock seems to do it for others.
