I am looking for a reliable and honest TJ mechanic / specialist in West London (Herts / Berks / Bucks / Middlesex) - can't seem to find anything on google and would rather avoid main dealers.
Hi @myfirstjeep_UK - yes I did find a mechanic - Radu from RCPB 4x4 Specialist based in Welwyn Garden City - http://www.herts4x4specialist.co.uk - have taken Jeep to him a few times - very knowledgeable and friendly - am currently talking with him about a rust treatment and lift.Hi @Tallman, did you find anything in the end? I'm in the market for a TJ at the moment, and I live in West London so would be interested to hear if you found someone you rate.
No problem - you may have already had a look but Atlan Motors in Chalfont St Giles has a lot of Wranglers (most of them Japanese imports) - https://www.vip-motors.co.uk
I'm trying to get a pair of front seats refurbished. Struggling to find anyone who can make sense of the cable set up in them. Do you know anyone that can work on it?True they are a little bit on the expensive side - most are in really good shape being Japanese imports - found mine all beat up and sad in the back of a car lot in Wembley - loving the long and slow job of bringing it back to full glory+ ! Good luck with the hunt !
When you say refurbished are we talking recovered? Also a bit confused by what you mean by the cable set up?I'm trying to get a pair of front seats refurbished. Struggling to find anyone who can make sense of the cable set up in them. Do you know anyone that can work on it?
Yeah, I'm getting them reupholstered. Re the cables, I'm talking about the cables that run in the seat that connect the levers to the mount so you can recline and roll forward the seat. When you say refurbished are we talking recovered? Also a bit confused by what you mean by the cable set up?
Not sure if the TJ seat set up for slide and tip is unique or if other three doors will have a similar system, if not uniqued you'd hope anyone who deals with seats would know what they are doing. In terms of reuphostering I did here from a friend of a friend that he had his seats reupholstered by a guy in Peterborough and was really pleased with the results. If it helps I can try and track down the name of the guy.Yeah, I'm getting them reupholstered. Thanks, would be great to get the details! Never seen the work he did and never spoken to the person, just had a third hand recommendation so some due diligence requiredwho had it done. It seems he has a YouTube channel, so may be pssible to have a look at some of his work.
