I think I’d still need to work to be satisfied. I think that’s part of the feedback mechanism in our brains related to our hypothalamus. It gives us that good feeling when we accomplish something significant.
So the kids these days have a hypothalamus deficiency?

I always think that the time to buy is when it’s not very high. That way I have a better odds of winning. Still a lot of money.
You're not wrong. My logic is that it is only really high occasionally so I don't participate often. I all but know for sure that I'll never win, but someone has to hit the really big one eventually so I'll drop a few dollars to get my hat in the ring.

I can't even wrap my head around if I won enough to pay off my house and free myself from that bill. Think about how much further your income goes if you're debt free!

That’s a nice concept, but my reality is in my formative years the best I ever did was 3rd place in a 3 person drawing. One in three chances of winning, and look where I landed. That conditioned me to not expect to win in something with millions to one odds.

Your odds of winning are not related to the number of people that play, but rather the number of selections (numbers) you need to get right and the number of integers in each selection. You could be the only person that plays, and never win the jackpot.

Your odds of being the only winner are related to how many people play…so if you want to win a bunch of money and keep it all for yourself, play when it’s low. If you want to win a massive amount of money, but might have to share it a couple ways ( which will still probably be more than the opening jackpot), Play when it’s big.

Kind of a long but funny story. I once did a fishing event while I was active duty military where we got to go fishing with some tournament bass guys and we all got raffle tickets in the morning for a lunch time drawing. All day my friend (Corey) and I were joking with our host angler that we never win anything and that the only way we would win is if everyone got a prize. He of course thought we were being dramatic. So we get to lunch and it turns out, they had way more prizes donated than participants (probably 30 participants or so?). They go through the whole thing and just Corey and I haven't been drawn. Finally, the event host announces that there are only two tickets left and there's about 15 prizes left. He draws my ticket (second to last) and then Corey's (last). Our host angler starts busting out laughing and tells everyone the story of how we had been saying that all day and he didn't believe us!

So that's my luck in random drawings! lol I will say, once they put everyone's tickets back in to draw for the rest of the prizes, we both actually ended up getting drawn for a second prize, so it worked out.
