March 2024 Ride of the Month (ROTM) Contest

How does it work?

1. From the 10th to the 15th of this month you'll be able to submit the best photo you have of your TJ.
2. Starting on the 16th of this month photo submissions will no longer be accepted.
3. Voting will start on the 16th of the month and be done in the form of a poll. Each member may only vote one time.
4. Voting will end on the very last day of the month at 12 AM midnight MST. Any votes that come in after 12 AM MST will not be counted.

Why can't I submit a picture to the contest?
In order to participate in this contest you must be a supporting member. I've done this as a means of offering users one more reason to upgrade (and thus support the forum).


Why can't I vote?
In order to vote you either need at least 20 forum posts or you need to be a supporting member. This is done to cut down on forum users who might attempt to create dummy accounts just to vote for their own photo.


What do I get if I win?
The winner will receive the following:

• $300 of Wizard Recovery Gear products (thanks to @mrblaine) or a $150 VISA gift card, or a combination of both (as long as it amounts to $200). If the retail of the product is $250 for example, they get those item(s) plus the rest in money. If they get a $50 item, the max cash is still $150. NOTE: (Blaine reserves the right to withhold the gift card portion of the win if he has you on his ignore list.)
• $500 towards the purchase of a new TCM / PCM or PCM repair service from @Wranglerfix.
• Winning photo in a special "Ride of the Month" forum theme
• Custom "Ride of the Month" graphic that will be displayed in the members signature
• "Ride of the Month" avatar banner (featured under the users avatar with each post)
• A one in eleven chance at winning the year end ROTY (Ride of the Year) contest in which the winner will receive either a free big brake kit from @mrblaine (if he ever gets them back in stock) or a $500 gift card. The winner of the ROTY contest will also receive a free PCM compliments of @Wranglerfix.

If I win, then what happens?
I will reach out to you via a PM and send you the gift card redemption code.

The inconsistency of this has been more than annoying. It changes the playing field throughout the year as well where the ROTY is nearly meaningless.

I agree. I actually went through and spent time to like other people’s pics today but it was def difficult to keep up with the names without a pad and pen handy

Yall are crazy. It's pretty easy. I feel like people use to just like all the photos and not just one. I couldn't imagine trying to sort through that to figure out who the winner is.

Scroll through the photos, pick the one you like, name is above it, then select the little bubble next to their name at the top, in the poll.

I'm not scrolling through multiple pages of a submission thread and then a voting thread to see all photos.

For what it's worth, I liked the old method of voting better as well.

Blaine is the one that wanted to change it back to this style of voting. Naturally I obliged because he is the one sponsoring the contest and giving away his own money / product, so he can call the shots as far as the voting method goes.

I'm in agreement though, the old way was better. At least in my mind.

Maybe if enough of you guys raise a fuss he'll change his mind. Either that or he'll politely tell you to eat $hit

I believe that’s what he was going for. With the previous voting method the votes didn’t mean as much.

I also prefer the current voting system. There are many reasons multiple votes should not be allowed. Pick the ride of the month. Not every Jeep you like. They're all cool pics.

Besides, the system was obviously rigged if I haven't won yet.

I would prefer the old system if people would only vote one time, but you can’t vote for numerous pictures and establish which is the best…

I don't mind the new system, but it would help to have a divider between the username/picture combos list to keep it straight. I know a lot of users by their Jeep, but not all.

I like this system much better than what we used to have. This is how it should have been from the start imo.

Only thing I still don't like is the ability to change the vote after it's been casted. IMO there should be just 1 chance for voting - you decide on your pick and vote and done. Not sure if that's doable in the forum software though.
