Hey y’all. Right now I’m cleaning up my dirty 2003 Wrangler I recently got. First Jeep owned (drove one as a rental before 😂…). Better late than never.

I am messing with the slightly rusty bolts on the interior right now, replacing the hardtop hardware.

And thinking of putting some marine grease on the seat front brackets bolts To protect the threads (and a dab of rustoleum once installed). Is that a good idea? I don’t know if I should drop them in Evaporust, because it corrodes really fast because that stuff strips it to bare metal.

Sure, I don't think the grease is a bad idea at all. Also, welcome to the forum!

I used to live in the rust belt. Every vehicle I ever had got squirted with cosmoline in the spray can. Not going to say I never had an issue but they were far from a normal occurrence.

What’s wrong with wire wheeling the bolts and using anti-seize? Or getting new bolts and using anti-seize?
